Frequently Asked Marquee Hire Questions
For your convenience, we have listed below answers to the marquee hire questions that we get asked most regularly.
Do you supply just the marquee?
No. We supply furniture, lighting, flooring as well. We can also arrange catering equipment, toilets, theme parties etc. Please ask us for what
you need and we will help you if we can.
When will you put up/take down my marquee?
We usually put up marquees on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before the event. We then dismantle them on the following Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
If you have a specific timescale that you need to work to then please let us know, and we will try and schedule accordingly.
How long is the marquee hire period?
For Saturday events, if you require a second use on the Sunday, this can normally be accommodated. During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by prior arrangement.
What colour are your marquees?
The majority of our marquees are white PVC. We also have a few red and white striped roofs if required.
How Safe are your marquees?
All of our marquees are made from materials that conform to British Standard specifications and are fire resistant. We also have insurance cover.
Can I make last minute changes to my marquee?
Within reason, yes. Changes to items such as furniture, colours etc can normally be accommodated a couple of weeks before the event. We
will also try to accommodate more significant changes but this will depend on availability.
Do your marquees stand up to storms?
Our marquees are sturdy and we always ensure that they are properly anchored. They are manufactured to withstand wind loading of up to 60 mph
and normally survive much higher winds than this.
Can a marquee damage cables or pipes running underneath the site?
We generally secure our marquees with large pins and these will damage any cables or pipes running beneath the site. We will check with you as to whether there are services below the site during the site visit. If you are unsure we will scan the site prior to erection.
Will your marquees damage our garden?
Temporarily yes. Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best but will quickly recover. We are always very careful not to damage
plants during the erection and take down of the marquee.
Are marquees suitable for winter events?
With the improvements in marquee construction and general heater technology, marquees are now ideal venues for Christmas and New Year parties. Powerful heaters provide warmth,
and hard flooring protects the marquee from wet winter ground. More and more people are now utilising all the advantages of a marquee venue for their winter event.
What is the difference between lined and unlined marquees?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential element of a traditional wedding-style marquee. With unlined marquees, the PVC walls and marquee structure
are fully visible, making them more suitable for functional or casual events.
