We love our marquees!  However, we are usually so engrossed in day-to-day operations that we never introduced the faces behind Hatch Marquee Hire. So, meet the team, who make an open field or lawn into a stunning venue.

First, we’d better introduce Jon, Dave & Kris – once riggers, these guys are the Owners/Directors of Hatch Marquee Hire.  They know all there is to know about our marquees.  You will meet one of them if you arrange a site visit.  It’s important to us that we meet you during the booking stage.  This helps us provide you with that perfect venue for your day. You will also usually find Jon, Dave, and Kris on-site during the build ensuring that everything is spot on!

Jon has been with us for over 15 years, he previously worked as a marquee rigger for the company. So, when it comes to marquee weddings, from working with clients to plan their ideal layout, to managing the operational side of installing a marquee, there isn’t really anything that Jon hasn’t experienced. Having said that, he is always up for a challenge! With his in-depth knowledge, he is in a perfect position to provide guidance and advice on anything marquee and wedding related.

Dave has worked at Hatch for over 11 years. Dave was previously a marquee rigger and was promoted to Foreman for the company. Dave has recently got married so when it comes to your marquee wedding preparation, he will ensure everything is ready for your big day. From meeting clients all over the South West to marquee rigging, Dave is happy to go above and beyond for your special day.

Kris has worked for Hatch for over 10 years. Kris started as a marquee rigger working the summers and building his knowledge in the industry. You’ll now most likely see Kris on a site visit with clients to find the perfect spot for a marquee and on a set-up day for that very special event! Marquee Riggers

Then there is our Hatch Marquee Hire team of riggers! We have a core group of riggers that work for us throughout the year.  Following the busy Christmas period, they are prepping for the coming season ensuring that everything is sorted, clean, and ready.  Their combined experience is more than 50 rigging years making a huge difference to the quality of the build.  It is the detail that makes a good marquee into an awesome marquee! In addition, we have our seasonal staff, some of whom return to us year after year, making up a great team on site.

These are the guys that work all hours and weathers all over Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and West Dorset.   Putting up and taking down, lifting and shifting, hanging and decorating, tweaking and tidying with more lifting and shifting until the job is done!  They really do put their backs into every day. However, they also have a lot of laughs along the way whilst visiting some of the most spectacular locations in the South West.

Marquee Riggers

Ash is our Yard Manager and has worked at Hatch for 17 years. He is responsible for the fleet, staff, and equipment. His main roles and responsibilities are daily site work & maintenance. You will also find him on site erecting and dismantling our marquees.

Jack is our Foreman and has worked at Hatch for 9 years. He looks after all our summer staff and ensures all the H&S is adhered to. Jack will be on-site rigging and ensuring you have everything you need for your special day.

Dan is a new face to the Hatch team and will be on-site making sure your marquee is looking amazing. He’s taken to marquee rigging like a fish to water and is learning all the aspects of marquee rigging.

Chris has worked for Hatch for over 5 years on a seasonal basis. He is a great asset to the Hatch Rigging Team. He is always working hard to ensure you have everything you need for your event.

Ollie started with us back in 2021. He is a great marquee rigger and is awesome to work with. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle and working all over the beautiful South West & beyond.

Ben started with us in 2021.  Having worked incredibly hard during the Summer season, we wanted to offer him a full time position at Hatch and he has gained so much knowledge in the marquee industry.

Sam started in 2021, and like Ben after working hard during the busy wedding season, we couldn’t let him go in the winter.

We also have a great bunch of Summer staff who return each year and we will also recruit an additional 10 people to help us get through the busy wedding season.

Office Staff

Finally, the office!  This is the home to all the coordinating and organising and where Sarah and Lou live.  Sarah works away making sure that everything gets to the right place at the right time. She is a great source of information, having worked for Hatch Marquees for over 10 years.  If you have any queries or tweaks to your booking, she is the one to speak to first. There aren’t many things Sarah can’t get sorted! No doubt all of our clients have spoken to our lovely Sarah. Nothing is too much trouble, from answering all your questions to helping the team get organised for a long busy summer, we really couldn’t be without her.

And finally there is Lou, who has been at Hatch Marquee Hire for two years. She looks after Hatch Marquees social media, website and any other marketing stuff, making sure that you get to see how fab a Hatch Marquee really looks!

So there we are, a happy team of marquee people busy getting ready for the next install! We look forward to meeting you all soon!
